"Inspirations and Insights from the Yoga Mat and Beyond"

About Me

I am an E-RYT 500 Yoga Alliance certified Vinyasa Flow and Prenatal yoga instructor living in the Beach in Toronto, Ontario.  I have been practicing various forms of yoga such as Vinyasa, Anusara, Prana Flow, Ashtanga, Hatha, and Kundalini since 2000, and began teaching Vinyasa, Hatha and Prenatal in 2009.

My winding path has included some time as a PhD candidate in Social Anthropology at U of T, 6 years of teaching high school in Northern Ontario, and a fateful trip to the Costa Rican rainforest where I completed my first Vinyasa training with the wonderful Frog Lotus Yoga International program.  I eventually rejoined with this program for advanced yoga teacher studies in both Mexico and India, and attained prenatal certification with The Yoga Sanctuary here in Toronto.  I also completed Shiva Rea’s PranaDanda teacher training, yoga which incorporates a staff into the flow of the postures.  As a result of practicing so many styles of yoga over the years and finding inspirational moments within each of them, the yoga I share is a creative synthesis of powerful, playful and prayerful.  It is my goal to lead each student into his/her own transformational practice with safety and sincerity.

Over the last few years I’ve had the fortune to study and practice with many leading teachers in the field such as Shiva Rea, Elena Brower, Desiree Rumbaugh, Eoin Finn and Sianna Sherman.  My eye always seems to be wandering on to the next opportunity to train further and learn more, a fortunate path which allows me to weave together these insights into new experiences in my own classes.  I am also passionately interested in yogic philosophy, Ayurveda, and exploring the ways in which different yoga traditions can blend together to awaken the heart and soul and quiet the mind.
